Medical Botox Injections

Medical botox injections are now being used for pain management to treat medical conditions such as cervical dystonia (neck spasms) and chronic migraines.

How Botox Works

Botox injections contain a toxin called onobotulinumtoxinA that temporarily stops a muscle from moving. They block certain chemical signals from nerves, especially signals that cause muscles to contract.

The Procedure

We use a thin needle to inject very tiny amounts of Botox into your skin or muscle. You can return to your normal activities soon after the procedure. Do not massage or rub the treated areas for 24 hours in order to prevent the toxin from spreading to other areas.

The Results

The injection begins to work one to three days after treatment, and will last for at least three months. You will need regular follow-up injections.

Conditions that can be treated by Botox

Botox can be used not just for enhancing facial appearance, but also to treat conditions that can affect how the body functions.
